For the 2026 season, the Roslyn Wakari Academy will be structured into two distinct groups based on age and grade. This approach is designed to provide appropriate development opportunities at each stage, while keeping pathways clear and accessible for players.
Pre-Academy Football (9th–11th Grade)
Pre-Academy Football is aimed at players in 9th, 10th and 11th grades and is open to all players - girls and boys - who are keen to access additional football development during the season. Where numbers allow, girls-only sessions will be offered.
The Pre-Academy will provide one skills-based session per week throughout the season, delivered by the Football Development Director (FDD). These sessions are designed to complement team training, with a focus on technical development and enjoyment of the game.
There will be no Pre-Academy based teams. Boys and mixed teams may be streamed where appropriate, with trials offered for those who wish to take part, though these are not compulsory. Girls’ teams will not be streamed at any grade.
Academy Football (12th Grade and Above)
Boys Academy
The Boys Academy is for players in 12th, 13th, 14th/15th, U15 YDL and U17 YDL grades and will operate on an invite-only basis. Pre-season trials will be held, with the possibility of additional invitations during the season based on performance and development.
Players in the Boys Academy will take part in one Academy session per week during the season with the FDD. As with the Pre-Academy, there will be no Academy-based teams.
All teams from 9th grade and above will be streamed, with trials available for those interested, but not compulsory.
Girls Academy
The Girls Academy is for players in 12th, 13th and 14th/15th grades and is open to all players who wish to take part. Junior-aged players currently playing in senior teams will be included via invite.
The Girls Academy will also offer one session per week during the season with the FDD. There will be no Academy-based teams, and there will be no streaming at any grade within the girls’ programme.
This structure reflects the lessons learned from previous seasons and is focused on providing clear, consistent development opportunities while supporting players at the right level for their age and experience.
